Our Mission

OUR MISSION:

To establish a dog park in one of the empty lots of the First Friday/ Downtown Phoenix area to deal with the issue of this area not being so pet friendly despite the countless numbers of pet owners in the area. But along with fixing this issue, we hope to bring along pet/stray awareness to bring down the numbers of strays in our community. Finally another problem we feel we can fix with this project are the issues of walkability and family friendly concerns. Concerns like the 1st Friday/downtown phoenix area not providing a place for family and children and making the streets a little bit more welcoming to walk thru.

Our Vision

OUR VISION:

To have the First Friday and Downtown Phoenix Community more pet friendly and with more pet awareness. Thus causing less stray animals and a more relaxing city environment for our furry companions. This, in our eyes, results in not one but MANY dog parks in the Downtown area, equipped with dog walking trails. All together, attracting more families to this area and making it a more comfortable, less intimidating, and familiar area to be at. This, to us, is true urban vibrancy.

How to save a stray :D

If you see a stray on your street and wish to help him or her, please follow these steps :D As for kitties, you can provide them a food and water source and try to humanely trap them to be able to take them into a humane society. Or for feral kitties, you could practice the act of Trap Neuter and Release; and make sure they have a steady supply of food and water in the area you release them. Remember, by neutering one, you save millions :D

Stray Animals

Hello!
As you have already know, we plan on opening a dog park at Downtown Phoenix. With that, we plan on letting people know about stray animals that are left on the street to survive on their own. That's why we suggest if you can't support more pets than you can handle, it would be probably be best to spay or neuter your pet. That way we hope to decrease the amount of stray animals on the street.
Help us save animals from this fate of being alone! But also help us open a dog park where people and animals can communicate with one another. :D

So where are we?

Okay, our eager audience,
Today we go over where we are at in our process to establish our dog park. So currently, we are in the process of settling what regulations we need to establish a dog park and we are also contacting land owners or their agents to be able to choose a piece of land and we are also finding out possible ways and prices of dust proofing the piece of land we get when we get it. What we are doing currently as well is finding new ways to fund. What we are doing so far is making home made doggie biscuits, which we are selling for 5 biscuits for 2 dollars and 10 biscuits for 4 dollars. We also are adding kitty treats into our funding attempts. So if you have a four legged buddy at home that you want to treat, come buy them a treat!! You can find us at school or at my email:
teammutt.crew@gmail.com
or
samantaarroyos@gmail.com
The only bump in the road we have so far is funding. The Mutt Crew is looking for areas in Down town Phoenix that would be willing to help us sell our treats and perhaps other future pet and pet owner friendly products at their establishments. Please, if you know any or if your establishment would be willing, contact me thru email!! We would really appreciate it. Also, what we are struggling with is flavors for biscuits!!
We are currently making peanut butter oatmeal whole wheat doggie biscuits, and whole grain beef stock kitty treats. but we would really like an opinion from you guys. What flavors or types of treats do you think our four legged buddies would like? Please comment below or feel free to send email!

Sincerely,

The Mutt Crew
